IT IS BEYOND THE SCOPE OF THIS PAGE TO EDUCATE ABOUT OREGON’S CONSTANTLY CHANGING COVID RULES & ORDERS (25 rule changes since April 6 (as of 8/11)). We will update as best we can.

SANCTUARY’S VACCINE REQUIREMENT (Or negative test): We received overwhelmingly positive feedback for this decision but also some unintentionally funny and off-base criticism. We also had some intelligent discussions from some who disagreed (that led to the negative test loophole). As the Delta variant began spreading, we decided to respond. We didn’t have to respond. We didnt have to have non-gendered pricing or hold a Clown Orgy either. But there is a clear REASON why we took action (read below)

Given the premise:  The goal of most at Sanctuary is to mingle… closely… preferably with new people.

We saw four possible choices:

1. Bring back mask requirements (this was made moot on 8/13). We’ve spent a year policing masks.

2. Allow vaccinated people to not have masks and force non-vaxed to wear masks. (We tried this before. It didnt work. Many of the unvaccinated also were quick to remove their masks).

3. Put the burden on the individual. This is problematic because as attendance was increasing, each Sanctuary guest would be responsible for quizzing anyone in their vicinity. We found this to be an unfair and unacceptable solution.

4. Assume the burden ourselves.

We chose the latter. We understand the arguments at play and we do not enjoy this decision. For now, we deem it necessary.

Some people may feel the decision Draconian. For these people, their baggage is their own burden.

As the science reporter Apoorva Mandavilli says: “There are ways to be responsible and socialize, but people don’t seem to be able to draw the line between what’s OK and what is not. For too many people, it seems to be binary — they are either on lockdown or taking no precautions.”
Sanctuary will be taking responsible precautions.

Sanctuary complies with all of Gov. Brown’s and OSHA/OHA’s Covid-19 guidelines. Masks required except when eating or drinking.  If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, please stay home. If you violate OSHA/OHA/OLCC rules, you will be asked to leave.

***If you have Covid symptoms, are high risk, or have been in contact with an infected person in the last 14 days, please stay home***

MASK RULES: You must wear a mask in all common areas. You do not need to wear a mask in your  group’s area or while eating or drinking. If you dont want to wear a mask stay home
